Nurtures, Inc. was incorporated in the province of Alberta with the intention of creating a home environment for children and youth. Focused on the provision of safety, stability, and nurturing, and specific to those children who have experienced trauma, Nurtures, Inc. provides opportunities to enhance their growth, strengthen connections, and therefore, the achievement of their potential development.
The following Guiding Statements, reviewed, and if required, modified and/or updated once every three (3) years, provide the framework of our organization:

We believe in the worth of every child and with the right support, resources, and a nurturing environment, children are able to transcend trauma, thrive to become well-adjusted and fully functioning members of the community and contribute positively to the society and the world at large. To this end, we are committed to providing a safe, secure, and supportive residential care to enhance the physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual capacity of children in our care – through positive, nature-setting and culturally-inspired experiences that our home provides. Nurtures, Inc. endeavors to provide excellent trauma-informed, culturally competent, and non-discriminatory support services to children, youth, and families; to be the heart, the hand, and the shoulder for vulnerable young ones in our society.

Nurtures, Inc.’s vision is to inspire positive experience and enhance individual development in attaining optimum potentials. We work with children and youth in their journey to transcend trauma through culturally and trauma-informed approaches to creating a safe, healthy, family-like, tranquil, and therapeutic home-based environment as close to community support and resources as possible.
